AI for Sustainable Building Design — Smarter Decisions, More Sustainable Futures
Date: 07 October 2026
Venue: Idea Zone @ Imazium, Damansara Utama

Progressive Computer Systems Sdn Bhd (PCSSB) successfully hosted AI for Sustainable Building Design on 7 October 2026 at Idea Zone @ Imazium, Damansara Utama, bringing together architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) professionals and industry practitioners for an insightful session on how artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping the future of building design.

The event explored how AI-powered technologies are transforming the way design professionals approach early-stage planning, evaluate design options, and make more informed decisions. As sustainability becomes an increasingly important consideration in the built environment, the session highlighted how combining AI with digital design tools can help teams explore possibilities earlier, assess building performance, and work towards more sustainable design outcomes.

From AI Insights to Real-World Applications

The session kicked off with Wendy Ang, Senior Partner Business Consultant at Autodesk Malaysia, who introduced Autodesk’s AI journey and shared insights into how AI is evolving across the AEC industry. Her presentation set the stage for understanding how emerging technologies are creating new opportunities for design professionals to enhance their workflows and make better-informed decisions.

Next, John Rivas, AEC Technical Specialist at Autodesk Singapore, took the audience deeper into the role of AI in sustainable building design. His presentation explored how AI-driven capabilities can support early-stage design exploration, help professionals evaluate alternatives, and bring greater awareness to sustainability considerations throughout the design process.

The session continued with a product demonstration by Amirah Hanisah, Autodesk Technical Consultant at Datech Solutions, who showcased Autodesk Forma Site Design in action. Through the demonstration, participants gained a closer look at how Forma can support site analysis, design exploration, and data-informed decision-making. The live walkthrough helped connect the concepts discussed earlier to practical applications, giving attendees a clearer picture of how AI-powered tools can fit into real-world AEC workflows.

Meaningful Discussions, Fresh Perspectives

Beyond the presentations, the event created space for meaningful discussions, questions, and knowledge sharing among participants. The audience had the opportunity to explore how AI and Autodesk Forma could support their own projects, from evaluating early design concepts to considering environmental factors and improving decision-making at the initial stages of development.

The strong interest and engagement throughout the session reflected the growing curiosity among AEC professionals about AI’s practical applications and its potential to reshape traditional design workflows.

The afternoon concluded with a lucky draw, adding a fun finishing touch to the event. Participants also had the opportunity to share their feedback, helping PCSSB continue to deliver relevant and valuable learning experiences for the industry.
