Accelerate Your Workflow with Enhanced Performance and Autodesk AI

AutoCAD 2026 delivers powerful performance upgrades and intelligent features designed to streamline your workflow. With files opening up to 11x faster and the application launching up to 4x quicker than AutoCAD 2025 for DWGs on LAN/network setups, this is the fastest version yet.

Harness the capabilities of Autodesk AI to make smarter design decisions. By analyzing data across your projects, AI helps uncover patterns in your team’s workflow, enabling meaningful insights and time-saving automation.

The result? More time for creativity, less time spent waiting.

Boost Productivity with Smart Blocks and Activity Insights

Enhancements to Smart Blocks: Search and Convert and the improved Smart Blocks: Detect and Convert (formerly known as “Object Detection Tech Preview”) bring new levels of efficiency and consistency to your design process.

Powered by Autodesk AI, these features help you identify repetitive geometry that can be turned into blocks, allowing you to streamline your drawings, improve clarity, and maintain drawing standards effortlessly.

With Smart Blocks: Search and Convert Tech Preview, you can swiftly scan your drawings for matching objects, text, and variable text. Autodesk AI helps you convert these elements into instances of a newly defined block, an existing or recently used block, or a recommended block from your Block Libraries.

While Smart Blocks: Search and Convert allows you to find and convert exact geometry matches one at a time, Smart Blocks: Detect and Convert scans your entire drawing in one go.

Leveraging Autodesk AI, Smart Blocks: Detect and Convert Tech Preview intelligently identifies potential blocks, making inferences about which elements should be converted.

This feature is especially useful for cleaning up large drawings or dealing with slight variations in geometry, such as those from imported files. In AutoCAD 2026, you’ll also find new tools in the review toolbar, giving you additional control to refine and modify results with ease.

The latest enhancements to Activity Insights in AutoCAD 2026 keep you informed throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring you’re always in the loop with project updates and changes.

With the new “What’s Changed” feature, you get a comprehensive overview of all activity during an editing session, including contributions from collaborators. Improved search and filter options make it faster than ever to access the specific drawing activity details you need in just seconds.

Autodesk Docs Integrations for Streamlined Support Files, Markup Import, and Markup Assist

The new Connected Support Files feature helps maintain consistent project standards across all collaborators. CAD managers can now assign project-specific support files to individual Autodesk Docs projects, allowing users to open multiple DWGs from different projects in AutoCAD, each with its own set of support files.

This integration ensures that teams work with the correct support files, eliminating the need for extra configuration and reducing errors, ultimately enhancing collaboration and workflow efficiency.

Markup Import now enables you to view issues from PDFs stored in Autodesk Docs. You can easily access key issue information with Markup Assist and click through to Autodesk Docs for more detailed insights.

Multi-User Markups

Enhance collaboration on Autodesk Docs projects with multi-user markups. Provide and gather feedback directly on drawings using easy-to-use markup tools in Autodesk Docs—now available in early access with AutoCAD on the web.

The updated SHARE command allows you to generate markup links for shared access to designs, enabling efficient teamwork without the need to duplicate or lock files. TRACE layers let users mark up files that automatically sync back to the designer, offering flexibility for teams to collaboratively review and apply changes. This approach ensures all feedback is captured and addressed, leading to improved project results.

Customize Workflows to Fit Your Needs

Enhance AutoCAD with specialized toolsets tailored for specific disciplines, such as architecture, mechanical, and electrical design, offering the features, functionality, and components you need. Gain valuable insights with geographical data from ArcGIS® Basemaps, providing essential context for your designs.

Create and execute custom automations using AutoLISP routines, and explore over a thousand third-party apps, with the option to develop your own using the AutoCAD API. This level of customization allows AutoCAD to adapt to the specific requirements of your projects, boosting efficiency and productivity.

Stay Connected Anytime, Anywhere

AutoCAD 2026 lets you stay connected to your designs wherever you are. Whether you’re working on desktop, web, or mobile, you can capture, share, and review ideas on the go. This flexibility makes it easier to manage your projects, whether you’re at the office, at home, or on a job site. With the latest updates to AutoCAD on the web, you can view and mark up both 2D and 3D DWG files, as well as visualize DWG files created with the architectural toolset.
